The idea of meditation is to bring your mind to a centre, and to keep it there and to keep it for longed stretches.
Most people think it ends here.
But what good would be a steady, motion-less mind, sitting dormant and idle.
There is something beyond meditation, and those possibilities are endless-- our gurus might show the shimmer of the distant planes but little they matter without roof on the head.
Meditation gives one a centre, and transparency between real and unreal.
But one needs to know where does he go after this centre; what directions he picks up-- It is imperative.
Meditation more than collecting awareness, is about orienting it, following the knowledge of what does one really want. Meditation primarily gives one the awareness to discern direction through a deeper knowledge of oneself.
So, from that centre, another journey begins, and that one must find for themselves. This makes it easier for the restless-modern-man to find out where he really belongs.
